How much height can we gain if we dig out the basement?
Each City Wide Group Underpinning is a custom situation specific to your home and its existing construction. There are two major considerations in determining how deeply your basement can be dug out and therefore how much finished foundation height you will gain. First, assessing your foundation wall and the height from the top of the new concrete slab to the finished grade, the structural engineer will determine the height permitted by the Building Code. The second consideration is the depth where the main drain enters the house. This is not a factor if a sewage ejector is installed.
How much will it cost to lower my basement foundation?
A free inspection and estimate by the City Wide Group Underpinning is the only way to determine the specific cost for your unique foundation underpinning project. Call the City Wide Group to arrange a convenient appointment. We will consult with you fully about your intended finished uses, budget, and important upgrade and required opportunities and propose the most technologically advanced alternatives to safely achieve your dreams.
How long will it take?
The City Wide Group Underpinning inspector will provide a timeline for your project and the work will be scheduled at your convenience. Generally, once any required permits are in place, the basic work is finished in one month to 6 weeks. If finishes are part of your project, these will take additional time.
